Smartphones
are not something new to ones born even 30 years ago. Once highly over-priced,
these gadgets are now available at as low as 40$ to as high as you can afford
to spend. However, as pace of technology has risen, we have witnessed a huge
variation in the development that this gadget has gone through. From a simple
2”X4” Nokia Phones, we have now IPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy. Phablets are
something which are getting hugely prominent in the market because of the ease
large screens have brought with them. Android developers worldwide are working
hard to exploit this opportunity to soar revenues. Countries like India and
China are becoming R&D centres for major corporations.
In
wake for this technological change, need was realized to address the part of
population who was supposedly feeling left out- the elders. There was a lack of easy to use mobile phones for the elderly
in the market. Their demands were specific and different from today’s geek teenagers
and tech-savvy population. Larger font size, easy to use, user friendly
interface, large buttons, small/ medium
size etc. have been high on their priory list of features while choosing the
suitable ones. There aren’t many but some have managed to make a difference.
